The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong and Macau is looking for a:
Press and Cultural Affairs Officer (m/f/d) in the Press and Cultural Affairs Department
Starting on 1 June 2025
Key Responsibilities and fields of work:
- Support, organize and manage events hosted by the German Consulate General
- Analyze local and international media on topics related to Hong Kong
- Support the preparation and implementation of visits by German delegations
- Maintain contacts with local and international partners, with a focus on the education/university sector
- Provide information and respond to inquiries in the fields of press and culture
- Support other aspects of the department’s work, including research, analysis and preparation of briefings
Applicants should have the following qualifications and skills:
- A university degree in a relevant field
- Sound knowledge of the cultural, economic, and political landscape in Hong Kong
- Excellent organizational abilities and a target-oriented, independent working style
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese required; Mandarin desirable)
- Strong computer and internet skills
- Strong team spirit and social competence
Desirable additional qualifications and experience:
- Proficiency in German
- Working experience in a relevant field
- Knowledge of Germany’s political, economic, cultural, and commercial context
- Education or professional experience in Germany
- Experience in the use of AI tools
Remuneration will be based on local employment conditions. Information on the starting salary will be provided upon request. Only applicants with Hong Kong residence status and valid work permit can be considered.
