There are various websites that offer an overview of the more than 20,000 degree programmes at German higher education insitutions. We recommend the following websites to help you find the right degree programme for you.

Get an overview on the official website study-in-germany.com of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and and check out the information and FAQs, we thought to be especially relevant for Hong Kongers here.

In the DAAD International Programmes database you can find bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral study programmes that are internationally oriented and internationally accredited. Many programmes in Germany are taught in English!

Use DAAD's free online tool My Guide to organize your search for universities. Answer three simple questions to find the study programmes that suit you best and contact the universities directly via the portal! Register free of charge, save study programmes of interest to you and use a checklist.

Interested in scholarships? Take a look at the DAAD scholarship database, that does not only provide information about DAAD scholarship programmes for international students and researchers, but also includes offers from other selected funding organisations.

Do you need a visa?

You can now use the more convenient option to apply online via our new Consular Services Portal for a national study visa (stays longer than 90 days)!

You will still have to come in person to show the original documents and hand in your passport, but all of your documents will be pre-checked by our colleagues in the visa section and you will often be able to get an earlier appointment than booking via our normal appointment system!

Start preparing all necessary documents early!
