If you live in Hong Kong and require a certificate of good conduct / certificate of no criminal conviction from the German Government, you may apply for it online – if you have a new German ID card with online functions. If you do not have that card, you may apply for the certificate via post at the German Federal Office of Justice in Bonn.

To do so, you need to have your identity and signature verified by the Consulate General in Hong Kong. Please make an appointment online for the signature verification.

Please bring along:

• the application form
• your passport
• approx. 510 HKD (depending on the exchange rate) in cash as a fee for the verification.

Be aware that an additional 13 EUR are payable to the Federal Office of Justice as its fee. Please see details on the second page of the application form or on its website.

The certificate will usually be sent directly to you. Therefore, please fill in your address LEGIBLY in the top box of the application form. Please note: the certificate can only be sent to private addresses, not to companies.
